Cornell Red Alert – better days ahead

Cornell

What we know is for the first time this year Cornell University was put on a Covid-19 red alert.  If you put on the news yesterday it was a major headline story.  To see our University on World News is pretty shocking.  Positive cases rose over 20 times the previous amount in less than a week prior.  These case numbers include many of the Omicron variants.  Classes and finals have gone online for the rest of the semester, libraries are closed, sporting events canceled and the December graduation ceremony canceled as well.  Here at our Cornell off-campus housing, we will not be entering any apartments, unless for an emergency, for the rest of the semester as well.

Better Days Ahead

The good news is Cornell is extremely diligent with its testing and Covid protocols.  They discovered the problem before it got out of control and made the necessary changes to prevent further spread.  We can hope that this is the peak of Covid here at Cornell.  The good thing is the students and our tenants here in our furnished apartments near Cornell have nearly a one-month Winter/Holiday break.  We can hope by the time everyone returns that the cases have gotten under control.  We made it three and a half months of in-person classes and activities as normal at Cornell.
