Summer in College town Ithaca

Ithaca

Since the start of June, the demographic of the city of Ithaca has changed dramatically.  Both universities are finished for the year and a very large population of students have returned home.  This past weekend was the return of the Ithaca Festival for the first time since Covid.  It is a celebration for the permanent residents of Ithaca to celebrate this time as well.  As much as we love our students we can now celebrate with each other.  During the summers in Ithaca, it turns into a whole different city.  We know firsthand as a large number of our tenants in our Cornell off-campus housing has either moved out or gone home for the summer.

Collegetown

The streets of Collegetown are very quiet now that we are into the month of June.  Most of the students are gone and we are in the middle of changeovers here at our student housing company.  Some students do remain but are definitely a minority.  Our student apartment rentals near Cornell are being painted, cleaned, and prepared for the next group of incoming Cornell students to take them over.  I guess you could say this is the quiet before the storm.  But we are excited to get a whole fresh batch of tenants in.

PJ Apartments

Here at PJ Apartments we spend the summer welcoming our tenants as they trickle in.  Between them slowly arriving throughout the summer we are working hard to get our units in amazing shape for our tenants.  We work all summer long to get ahead for the upcoming year. Even here in the office we are busy answering all questions that come in, as well as working with potential tenants for next year.  Yes, that is correct, we are already filling student apartment rentals near Cornell for 2025-2026.  So if you know or even think you will be living off campus next year, please reach out to us today!
